Emily Bass is the owner and head coach at Built Strength and Conditioning. Emily has over 7 years experience teaching and coaching in the fitness industry. As a Registered Kinesiologist, CSEP Certified Exercise Physiologist, and CrossFit Level 2 coach Emily is consistently up to date with delivering the most current and scientific fitness practices to ensure nothing but the best for her clients, classes and her gym. With 3 years in competitive bodybuilding, 4 years in competitive CrossFit and an affinity for Olympic weightlifting, Emily’s diverse fitness knowledge will help you achieve your goals. Emily’s smile, outgoing personality and uncanny ability to make you feel like the only one in the room will ensure a top fitness experience. Whether you are a Built training client or member of Built Strength and Conditioning, you are part of the BUILT family!

CrossFit Level 1 Coach

I am a CrossFit Level 1 certified coach with 4 years of CrossFit experience. I found my love for the sport while playing hockey at Nipissing University and studying Physical and Health Education. I am currently working towards my goal of becoming a full time fire fighter, while also coaching at Built Strength and Conditioning.

Athletics have always been and still are a huge part of my life. While still playing broomball and hockey, I also strive to continue to compete in different fitness competitions and events, while always bettering myself as an athlete and coach.

I can’t wait to meet each and everyone of you. I strive to help you meet you goals and make the impossible possible.

Over the years I have had the fortune of learning from many amazing coaches in all different sports and different types of fitness. I have a varsity rowing and figure skating background and for the last 10 years I have participated and competed in CrossFit. My background in a lifetime of sport and fitness allows me to offer a wide variety of skills and techniques that I can’t wait to share with all of you!!”

I’m Laura and I’ve been coaching now for about 5 years, but have been involved in sport ever since I could remember. Throughout my experience both as an athlete and coach I’ve learned the importance of good coaching, and movement integrity has on increasing performance. Working out is so much more than pushing weight, and going fast, there’s a technical side which I love.

Specializing as a Movement Coach, I focus on movement mechanics, and do my best to ensure you are moving efficiently, and your body is functioning as a unit, aiding in injury prevention and skill development. I start with ensuring you have a strong foundation, and build up from there.

My athletic background is in competitive rugby and soccer but in the last 5 years I’ve been able to transfer my sport intensity and competitive drive into CrossFit! I enjoy everything about fitness and all styles of it. I love seeing the changes in strength, technique and overall fitness level through the efforts we get to put in every day. There’s nothing better than individual accomplishments that happen in the gym surrounded by a supportive community! I have been coached by some awesome people and in the last couple years I’ve wanted to share what I’ve learned and hope to be the best coach I can be for all of you!”

Agatsu Certified Kettlebell Coach

Curtis is a Certified Personal Trainer, Metabolic Conditioning Coach and Agatsu Level One Kettlebell Instructor. He has 30 years of experience in Education and coaching various sorts. Curtis has completed over 25 Half, Full and Ultra Marathons. Including 8 Boston Marathons and the 125km Canadian Death Race. He has also competed as a member of Team Canada at 2 Age Group World Duathlon Championship;s.

Dee Muszynski

Dee Muszynski

Dietitian

Dee Muszynski is a Registered Dietitian at DeeRDNutrition.

Dee obtained her undergraduate degree at the University of Guelph in Applied Human Nutrition. She continued her studies at Guelph University and obtained her Masters in Human Health and Nutritional Sciences and pursued her Precision Nutrition Level 1 certification while she was finishing her Masters. She is in the process of completing her Intuitive Eating Certification and her Girls Gone Strong Women’s Coaching Specialist Certification.
